Welcome to this months newsletter of the Sanson Club Inc. The warmer weather has started a flurry of activities leading up to and including New Year. You can find details below or as they come to hand.
Here’s one for all you pool players. Keep the afternoon of the 18th November free. This afternoon will be seeing a rematch in social pool against Turakina. Although we are attempting to arrange transport, as many supporters as we can muster will be most welcome as well. All players names on board please.
Coming up soon is the social darts afternoon. This event has not been forgotton but with everything else happening at the time it is getting more dificult finding time to fit everything in. This will be taking the format of one of Darts teams pairing up with one of us others members in a drawn pairs setup. Watch this space or the notice board for further details as they come to hand. It promises to be a great day.
Big Clean
Sunday 25th November 2pm will be seeing the club rooms and grounds receiving a jolly good clean up. This involves both inside and out and as many members, as well as helpful non-members, as we can muster will be needed on the day. . For those of you who are more interested in getting your hands dirty outside please bring your own tools, forks rakes etc. There will be plenty for all you indoorsy people as well. A list of tasks to be undertaken will be posted on the board in the club.
New Members
One new member and one returning member have joined the club this past month. Please welcome Stu Stone and Dorothy Taylor. Dorothy is a returning member while Stu is a Brand Newie. Sansonites may remember Dorothy as being a past proprietor of Sanson Caltex. These two are now share-milking not to far out of town.
It is good to see new members coming along like these two as Stu has been a competition Pool Player, and from what I’ve heard, is far from being past his prime.
Golf
The West Coast Nth Island Chartered Clubs Golf Tournament is to be held at the Palmerston North Golf Club. The entry fee for this is only $120.00 per team of four. Tee off is any time between 8.00 and 12.00 noon. Full details, Tournament Rules and entry forms are available on the board at the club.
New Years
Cast your mind back to this years St Paddys Day. Remember the good night that was had at the club to the accompaniment of the “Rhythm and Groove” due. These two put on a wonderful night of fun and good music, whether they do the singing or us. The good news is they are returning to The Sanson Club. Another excellent night is assured so mark your calendars' now to make sure you don’t miss out.
